Opis

This interactive museum presents the collections of the old Maritime and Beachcombers museum which consists of the unusual objects found on the beaches or seabed of the Waddenzee. The museum also retraces the history of Texel harbour which experienced a period of prosperity in the 17C and 18C: boats belonging to the India Company anchored here while waiting to enter the Zuiderzee. Outside the museum, visitors can admire the carefully restored interiors of fishermen's houses dating from the 1930s to 1950s.
