This district to the north of the cathedral has preserved attractive half-timbered and corbelled properties from the 15C and 16C. Highlights include the Place du Martray, Rue Fardel (Maison de Ribeault, the "mansion of the Dukes of Brittany"), Rue Quinquaine (n° 9) and Rue du Gouët (n° 6, 16 and 22).
