Overlooking the grandiose Sénat (upper house of the French parliament) and the Luxembourg gardens, this friendly contemporary bistro sports untreated materials (exposed stone, brickwork and timberwork), an open kitchen and a small counter. ‘Ambos’ (‘both’ in Spanish) refers to Pierre Chomet and his Venezuelan wife, Cristina. Their culinary adventures have taken them from Bangkok to London and Paris, and a Top Chef TV season for Pierre. Together they concoct a light-hearted, personal, vibrant tapestry of flavours which aims to please as it draws on a variety of influences – European and Thai (pad thai-style langoustine tartar,) as well as South American (farm-reared suckling lamb and iodized chimichurri; stuffed arepa cornbread).
