Opis

With its narrow medieval streets running down to the River Limmat, this area is the heart of the old town. Some houses, the most charming of which date back to the 16C or even the 13C and 14C, have terraced gardens. It is best explored on foot as you wander around its lanes, popping into pretty boutiques and pausing on small squares and terraces. Wohllebgasse (with its huge wooden warehouse) and Rollengasse (staircases) are among the most picturesque.
