Planted in the grass, 19 stainless-steel statues over 2m tall represent soldiers who look as if they are patrolling in rain gear. On one side of this open space, a black granite wall presents 2 500 photos of men and women who served in the Korean War (1950-53), during which 54 000 American soldiers lost their lives, 110 000 were injured and 8 000 missing in action.
