The combination of Byzantine-, Romanesque- and Islamic-inspired features makes this cathedral a work of exceptional artistic and architectural value among Puglia's wealth of medieval churches. The current cathedral was built on the site of an old place of worship, from the late 11C. Outside, the rose window attracts all eyes; inside, the collections of the Museo del Tesoro della Cattedrale are testament to Troia's historical importance.
