Opis

East of Jembatan Merah (the Red Bridge) lies the Chinese district, a real maze of small houses and shops where people on foot and in becak, cars and lorries all vie for space. With its Chinese puppet theatre (Fu-Kien), the Buddhist temple Hok Tek Hian (Jl. Dukuh) evinces an astonishing cultural variety: the plays are Chinese but the puppeteers are Javanese.
