The Artothèque is housed in a beautiful 19C Creole home built from wood. Its contemporary art exhibitions showcase the work of well-known artists and young talents from across the Indian Ocean. One of its distinctive features is its willingness (for a small sum) to lend its works of art out to lovers of fine objets d'art. As part of your visit, don't miss the library, home to over 2 000 specialist works on the history of art and, in particular, contemporary art.
