If you're in the market for a luxurious trip and all the corresponding perks, choose one of the ten private reserves bordering Kruger National Park on the west for your safari. They have the same vegetation, the same animals, sometimes even the same terrain since some of them have stayed completely open to the park. The rates, however, are much higher. The lodges' own vehicles are used for the safaris, with the rangers there to help you spot the animals. For a unique experience, book a night outing.
