Three consecutive reservoirs on the Gunnison River, within and above the Black Canyon, are the heart of this recreational heaven for water-sports lovers. Farthest upstream is Blue Mesa Lake, Colorado's biggest lake and the largest kokanee salmon fishery in the US. Below Blue Mesa are Morrow Point Lake, locked into the upper Black Canyon, and Crystal Lake. Three visitor centers provide information on activities; one (Elk Creek on Blue Mesa Lake) is open year-round.
