Opis
Russian Hill, which claims to be the "crookedest street in the world", was propelled into the limelight when it featured in the movie Bullitt starring Steve McQueen. Eight switchbacks (hairpin bends) were designed to soften its natural 27% grade to "only" 16%. It is very popular with motorists, to the annoyance of the residents who witness their antics. The view from the top is fantastic and from the bottom upwards it is equally impressive.
