Opis

The world's most famous penitentiary, accessible up a steep path, in San Francisco Bay is shrouded in legend and mystery. Measuring over 10 sq. acres, the island is less than 2mi from the mainland, but the freezing currents made escape virtually impossible. The visit includes a tour of the cells, where you get a feel for the grim atmosphere, the island and the gardens created by the inmates. A film documentary explains life in the penitentiary.
