Encompassing nearly 1,000 acres of meadows, gardens and public buildings, Golden Gate Park is the largest city park in the US. Three miles long and half a mile wide, it boasts a polo field, rollerblade paths, tennis courts, rowing and angling facilities. Among its attractions are the architecturally bold De Young museum, the peaceful Japanese Tea Garden, the Victorian-era Conservatory of Flowers, Strybing Arboretum, and the ambitious California Academy of Sciences.
