Situated on the main route to the Alps, this Roman arch once marked the entrance to Glanum. Its perfect proportions and the exceptional quality of its sculpted decor indicate a Greek influence: note the single arcade embellished with a beautiful garland of fruit and foliage, the vault decorated with finely chiselled coffers, and the sculptures representing slain captives.
