Opis

The most popular and best-marked path for climbing La Soufrière is the Chemin des Dames. This pebbly path leads after 35min to the Faujas landslip then to the Grande Faille ("Great Fault"). The last section leads to the summit, but beware of strong winds. A large part of the summit plateau is prohibited due to an increased risk of collapse and toxic fumes. The return journey is via the same track; this 4hr 30min round trip is recommended for experienced walkers only.
