The Exchange was erected in 1834 by the Tradesmen's Association of Porto who still occupy it. Having ascended the attractive granite and sculpted marble staircase you will visit the old trading court hall, the golden room and the Arab room, a pastiche of the Alhambra in Grenade, decorated with Arabesque stained glass windows and sculpted wood in imitation of Arabic stucco... opposite the Exchange is the metallic structure of the Ferreira Borges market which hosts temporary exhibitions.
