The traditional centre of Porto consists of a network of shopping streets around the Praça da Liberdade and São Bento railway station, which are very lively in the daytime. After window-shopping in Rua Santa Catarina, Rua Formosa, Rua Sá da Bandeira, Rua Fernandes Tomás, many with an old-fashioned charm, recharge in one of the many cafés or pastry shops.
