Opis
This magnificent residence (1688) is the closest an English edifice gets to a Louis XIV castle in France. The simple western façade sits perfectly with the gardens by Capability Brown and the view over the South Downs. A spectacular staircase graces the interior, which also boasts the largest collection outside London's Tate Britain of works by Turner, a regular guest here.
