Facing Dorchester Square, the green Place du Canada is lined by modern edifices: Marriott Château-Champlain Hotel (1967) with its incredible half-moon convex windows, the 1000 de la Gauchetière (1992), Montreal's tallest skyscraper (205m/672ft) and the post-Modern, copper and glass Laurentian Building (1986) on the southwest corner of Peel and René Lévesque Streets.
