At the intersection of Highways 101 and 110 is the real centre of the sprawling city of Los Angeles: Downtown L.A. Early-20C brick buildings rub shoulders with a forest of skyscrapers. The financial centre and business district, Downtown is very lively during the daytime, but empties out at night.
