The site of Expo98, in the northeast of the city, has been turned into a recreation area where visitors can stroll about, with attractions and shows, bars, restaurants, gardens and a huge pedestrian area at their disposal. In the evening, the park remains lively, especially in summer, hosting open-air concerts, some on stages on the Olivais Dock. It is part of a vast urban renewal project to convert a once polluted industrial zone into a new town.
