Nitmiluk National Park attracts large numbers of tourists. It is crossed by Katherine River, which has carved out several kilometres of superb gorges at the bottom of a magnificent canyon. There are in fact 13 gorges, but they merge into a single one, separated by heaps of boulders and fast-flowing rapids. Cruises will take you to visit two or three gorges, offering a splendid view. This breathtaking site can also be explored from a helicopter, a canoe, on foot, or when swimming in the river.
