With its red silhouette reflected in the water, this castle is one of the most original and picturesque in Southern Bohemia. It was built in the 13-14C on a rocky island in the middle of a small lake. In 1531, the small fortress was rebuilt in Renaissance style. The original drawbridge was replaced by a stone bridge in the 17C when the castle became a summer residence. The interior boasts some attractive period furniture, while the cellars are open to visitors in summer.
