Opis

Overlooking Seraglio Point, at the mouth of the Golden Horn, the Sultanahmet quarter extends across the first hill of the city, the fiefdom of Ancient Byzantium and the political and cultural heart of the Byzantine and Ottoman cities. Few places in the world are home to such a concentration of architectural marvels in such a small area, a testimony to some of the world's greatest civilisations. This district, which can only really be explored on foot and is perfectly geared to tourists nowadays, is something of a living museum focused on its illustrious past.
