This area, one of the most attractive in old Fez, was restored with support from the Fondation Mohammed Karim Lamrani pour l'Ensemble Nejjarine. At the far end of this well-proportioned square is Fondouk Nejjarine, with a richly decorated monumental door covered by a magnificent canopy. To the right is the famous Nejjarine Fountain, a true "altar to water" against a pretty backdrop of zellige tiles. Even farther to the right, the Nejjarine Souk (for carpenters) exudes the scent of cedar wood.
