Opis
This former abbey is one of the only ones to be directly founded by Clairvaux in Germany, with the Abbey of Himmerod in the Eifel mountains. It remains steeped in the silence and isolation that characterised the lifestyles of the Cistercian monks who used to live here. White walls, steep slate roofs and immaculate gardens. Cut off from the rest of the world, it continues to produce wine according to century-old techniques. Don't miss the splendid collection of old wine presses in the refectory.
