The San Telmo Museum occupies a former Dominican monastery, founded in the 16C, which includes a church decorated by the Catalan José María Sert (1874-1945) and very fine cloisters. The museum houses an exceptional collection of discoid stelae. The ethnographical section homes in on Basque society; another section is dedicated to fine arts, mainly Spanish artists. The building has a modern extension, the perforated façade of which blends into the rocky panorama of Mt Urgull.
