Domfront's historic centre is surrounded by fortifications which include 13 towers out of an initial 24 The area boasts fine half-timbered houses (no. 38 rue Docteur-Barrabé), well-restored 16C mansions, the neo-Byzantine church of St Julien, featuring an unusual interior plan, and the town hall decorated with drawings and oil paintings by local artist Charles Léandre. The ruins of the medieval fortress are nearby.
