Designed by Edmond Rostand himself, and paid for with the royalties from his book Cyrano de Bergerac, the huge Labourdes Basque-style Villa Arnaga is perched on a promontory turned into formal gardens. Every detail contributes to the refinement of this light-filled house: the brightness and warmth of the wood panelling, the freshness of the decorative paintings and tile friezes, the elegance of the trompe-l'oeil details, the brilliance of the colourful stained-glass windows. Numerous documents on the playwright's career are also displayed.
