Nausicaá invites the visitor to dive headlong into the world's oceans. The new extension to the National Sea Centre now houses Europe's biggest aquarium, home to sharks, golden jellyfish, rays and bioluminescent fish. Some 1 600 and 58 000 animals from seas and oceans all over the world cohabit in 70 pools. Nausicaá is, however, much more than an aquarium. Two exhibitions, "Voyage on the High Seas" and "Shores and Humankind", seek to raise awareness of the need to protect our planet's marine environments. Showcasing fascinating ecosystems, Nausicaá is both entertaining and educational.
