A left bend in the road (1km from the arrival point) affords the best view of the kasbah (1710), the exterior wall of which is well preserved on this side. The ruins give off a sense of grandeur, especially at sunset. A walk around the ramparts offers lovely views over the bends in the Oum er-Rbia. An ambitious project to restore the buildings, carry out archaeological research and showcase the site could have the advantage, if carried through, of preserving what remains of this enchanting place.
