Opis
The small Chiesa di Santa Sofia is an example of how in their artistic endeavours the Lombards blended Roman heritage, Christian spirituality, Byzantine influence and values originating in the Germanic world. It has a surprisingly unconventional design: a hexagon in a half-star decagon. See the cloister, with its attractive Moorish-style arcades, and visit the Museo del Sannio, which presents significant archaeological collections and a fine series of modern paintings.
