In 1839, this Greek Revival structure was built to house a library, reading rooms and natural history exhibits. Having served by turns as a Civil War hospital, private home and office complex, since 1985 the building has been turned into a museum featuring temporary exhibitions on the history of the region and the State of Virginia.
