Surrounded by the Mount Lofty Ranges and the beaches of Gulf St Vincent, McLaren Vale may be less well known than its neighbours but this is a historical wine-growing region. Vines have been grown here since 1838. Come to admire some of the oldest vine stocks in the country and enjoy exceptional tastings at the D'Arenberg family estate or at Bekkers Wine, whose Syrah and Grenache wines are regularly acclaimed in the national rankings.
