Accessible by boat from Santiago, Brava is the last bastion of Cape Verde and the closest island to Brazil. Covered with flowers, mountainous, windswept, Brava is a land of contrasts. Its capital, Vila Nova Sintra, is a beautiful architectural ensemble organised around a vast central square dotted with trees.
