Mont Vinaigre

 Well worth the diversions

  The Michelin Guide's review
Mont Vinaigre was once a haunt of brigands and the most dangerous spot in the Esterel massif. From this high point (618m) there is a fine view: from left to right, Cap-d'Antibes, Pointe de la Croisette, Cannes, the Gulf of La Napoule; straight ahead, the Pic de l'Ours, the Pic du Cap-Roux, the Gulf of Fréjus; looking inland, les Maures, the Bas Argens plain, and the southern tip Lake St-Cassien. On a clear day, the Italian Alps and (in the other direction) Ste-Baume can be seen.
