Only one tower remains from the old 14C castle. The current 19C château is neo-Gothic in style and houses the Domokos Kuny Museum, named after the master ceramist of Tata. The museum displays a collection of archaeological artefacts, including Roman and medieval stones, and traces the history of the castle and the town. There is also a fine collection of locally made pottery.
