  The Michelin Guide's review
Not far from the larger Peles Castle, Castelul Pelisor nestles amid the trees. Built between 1889 and 1903 for King Ferdinand I, it has lovely stone and wooden façades. Maria of Edinburgh, Ferdinand's wife, designed the interior, and the decoration is testament to her taste, mainly for Art Nouveau, and her predilection for the recurrent thistle motif, a nod to her Scottish origins. Furnishings and vases created by the big names of the time.
