This concert hall was inaugurated in 1981. More than 1,900 people can be seated here to listen to the famous Gewandhaus Orchestra. The statue of Beethoven (1902) is by Max Klinger, a Leipzig sculptor. In front of the Gewandhaus, the Mendebrunnen Fountain (1886) is an allegory of the empire of the waters.
