In the thick of Hong Kong's frenetic urban bustle, you can easily forget that the city has a few beaches - what remains of the long swathes of sand that are now buried under concrete. The beach at Deep Water Bay is one of the best: shaped like a creek, it is popular with locals. A pedestrian boardwalk leads to neighbouring Repulse Bay.
