For this memorial dedicated to Europe's Jewish victims, the American Peter Eisenman designed a field of 2 711 steles of differing sizes. To reach the underground museum, visitors pass through this maze-like cemetery. The information centre paints a picture of the Nazis' extermination policy, presents victims' testimonies and charts the fate of 15 Jewish families.
