The story of the Donei family is inseparable from that of this historical malga (alpine farmstead), transformed into a restaurant in the 1950s when the parents of today’s chef‑owner, Paolo, began preparing tasty dishes for the first vacationers – gradually making it one of the finest dining destinations in Val di Fassa. Today, only the name and panoramic position above the village and valley remain from those early days, with views best admired from the new, glass‑walled dining room decorated in an Alpine style. The rest is haute cuisine, thanks to the chef’s natural talent for reinterpreting local flavors through a contemporary lens. In addition to à la carte dishes, two tasting menus are offered, where Trentino traditions meet Mediterranean influences. Simpler recipes also feature, paying tribute to the long history of the restaurant and its woodland setting. The wine list is organized into two sections, whites and reds, with a selection that shines a spotlight on regional producers.
