The 14-18C gothic cathedral dedicated to St Mary stands at the summit of the old town. It replaced a romanesque cathedral of which only the belltower and cloister now remain. Inside, note the nave, which is spectacularly large ; the widest in European gothic architecture at 22.9 m. The retable on the main altar (14C) is made of gilded silver and covered with enamels depicting scenes from Christ's life.
